About Us
Mission of Dance
Kansas City Metropolitan Dance Theatre has a mission to reach youth in our emerging community with a strong desire to develop, grow, and express themselves through the art of dance.
Owner/Founder
Kimberlyn Jones has over 30 years of experience in the community of choreography, performance, and instructing dance. Stemming from the legendary Smith Sisters Dance Studio and Miller Marley, she has graced many stages of the Kansas City community, choreographed the iconic Debutante and Cotillion Balls, and have taught thousands of children over the years. Experience expands with the Kansas City Chief Chiefettes, Marching Mizzou Golden Girl, Kansas City Alvin Ailey residency ensemble, Kansas City Ballet, Westport Ballet, dancing at the National Academy of Dance in Rome, Italy, and establishing a nonprofit performing arts organization. With a Bachelors Business degree and Dance Certificate from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a Masters degree in Business Management from Rockhurst University, and a strong passion for her craft, she has served the community through dance for many years and is now passing the torch to the next generation.
Studio Director
Latrece Hindsman has been with the studio for over five years. She is our Studio Director. She is a Kansas City native and loves working with all our wonderful students and parents.

Master Classes
Throughout the year, master classes will be held by special invited guest artists from local and national dance companies and organizations. This program will provide versatility in our students development and enhance their overall dance experience.
